Georgia is one of the most competitive states in the US for women's soccer, home to a host of talented & dedicated athletes. As the 2022 high school soccer season reached its close, we reviewed this year's scorecards from scouts around the country to bring you Georgia's Top 10 Freshmen to Watch! Get an early look at these standout athletes making an early push to the top of college recruiting boards.


1. Tessa Morehead, Stratford Academy Eagles

Tessa understands how to read the game. She’s a manager of the game and displays confidence in her decision-making. This leader knows how to direct her backline and prevent scoring opportunities with an innate ability to anticipate a pass or a shot in her area. Tessa is a highly athletic keeper, making intelligent decisions with her feet, leading to explosive playmaking and an impressive Goals Against Average of .80. The best goalkeepers are always reassuring; Tessa Morehead is a storm that brings calm with her interventions.


2. Izzy Chimento, McIntosh Chiefs

Izzy is absolutely fearless and will take on anyone, she’s what scouts like to call the complete package. Her speed, aggression, field awareness, and technique are all wrapped up with a humble coachability. Izzy drops into the 2 spot like a wrecking ball, voted by coaches as the most dynamic athlete on the pitch. She’s topping scout radars and definitely a crowd favorite with her aggressive play, footwork and scoring ability. Move over Kelley O’Hara, a new girl is repping Peachtree City, Georgia and she’s making waves.


3. Ellie Lewis, Georgia Christian Generals

Valdosta, Georgia

Ellie is your complete midfielder and perfectly balances attack and defense. She knows how to control the ball on both sides of the pitch. She has an incredible ability to see the field and find pass channels, making her a potent playmaker. Her goal-scoring and finishing are equally impressive, with her ability to find and create space to attack. Ellie captures the 3 spot as a solid, well-rounded athlete.


4. Mia Glisson, Hebron Christian Academy Lions

Dacula, Georgia

Elite athletes run in this family. Mia’s two older sisters both went on to play Division 1 soccer, and she’s right on their heels. Mia is an attacking player! Blink, and you’ll miss this rising star. She is so explosive on and off the ball that it makes her one of the most challenging players to mark on the pitch. Mia recently tied her sister’s school record of “Most Goals Scored In One Game” and she will likely go on to break various school records over the next three years. Make no mistake; Mia Glisson is a name we will continue to hear in years to come.


5. Ella Noren, Hillgrove Hawks

Ella just seems to thrive in pressure situations. If the ball is in her vicinity, she owns it. She has excellent technical skills, which is no surprise given her dedication to mastering her position, constantly pushing herself to be the best. At 5’11 and with her impressive athletic ability, she’s piqued the interest of more than just a few college coaches. With 99% of minutes played this year, over 68 saves, and a .98 GAA. Ella earned her spot, dropping in on the top 5 like a brick wall.


6. Katie Entlich, St. Anne-Pacelli Vikings

Height: 5’6 Weight: 135 Position: F
Club: Concorde Fire

Columbus, Georgia

Katie is a fierce competitor and a striker at heart. She's known for launching "bangers" from long-range and making it look easy. Mix that with her speed, footwork, and well-timed runs, and you're looking at a player who's primed to make a big splash. Scouts search for players who are natural in front of the goal and don't need to look up at the target to know where it is before getting a shot off; Katie represents.


7. Cameron Chapman, Norcross Blue Devils

Height: 5’6 Weight: 131 Position: F
Club: UFA Metro ATL

Norcross, Georgia

Cameron is conditioned as an 80-minute player, and her pace is a great advantage to the team, being able to cover ground quickly. Not only does she have impressive speed, but she has a beautiful touch and a variety of finishes. We were impressed on film how she doesn’t hesitate in front of goal; she strikes with confidence without looking up, displaying awareness of her position on the pitch with a striker instinct. The sky’s the limit for number 33.


8. Molly Mallebranche, Hillgrove Hawks

Height: 6’0 Weight: 160 Position: CB

Powder Springs, Georgia

Molly has it all locked down. She’s a nightmare for attackers and can hang with just about all of them; she has a remarkable ability to read the game and take up great positioning. Her size, aerial ability, and athleticism are putting college coaches on notice. Molly has excellent character, excelling in the classroom and on the pitch. She’s always showing up to the field with a positive attitude. This young lady is going places, and we’re looking forward to watching the journey.


9. Abby Walsh, Calvary Day Cavaliers

Savannah, Georgia

Abby is a workhorse on the pitch and leads the team by her example, focus, and desire each day to be better than yesterday. Scoring high marks for being coachable and always answering the call. It takes a leader and a champion to stay cool and step up in big moments and Abby is as cool as they come. She takes command in big games and is a natural goal scorer.


10. Katelyn Nixon, Lovett Lions

Atlanta, Georgia

Katelyn is a creative playmaker who understands that the possession game brings home the W. When you need someone on the pitch to step up and create opportunity, you lean on number 16. Katelyn displays impressive calm under pressure and always finds a way to put the ball in the back of the net. Her creativity is not only fun to watch, she’s also the leading goal scorer for the Lions. We are excited to see more big things out of Katelyn over the next few years.
